SANTA MONICA, Calif. (April15, 2016) – Today, six preliminary mixed martial arts fights have been added to the docket of “Bellator: Dynamite 2” on June 24, at Scottrade Center in St. Louis. In addition, two kickboxing contests have also been confirmed.
The eight fights join a monster card that features the return of “Rampage” Jackson (36-11) to Bellator MMA, when he meets former Pride Fighting Championship competitor Satoshi Ishii (14-5-1) in a catchweight main event. Additional main card bouts will be announced shortly.
Tickets for “Bellator: Dynamite 2,”are onsale now at Ticketmaster.com and the Ford Box Office at Scottrade Center. Doors for the event open at 5 p.m. CT local time, and the first contest takes place one hour after.
“Bellator: Dynamite 2”airs live and free on Spike at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT, while preliminary bouts will stream live on Bellator.com and The Bellator Mobile App.
Exactly like the groundbreaking inaugural “Dynamite” event this past September in San Jose, both a mixed martial arts cage and kickboxing ring will cover the floor at Scottrade Center, in St. Louis, giving fans in attendance the opportunity to see both iterations of combat sports on the same night.
Much like Bellator’s previous events in St. Louis – “Bellator 138: Unfinished Business” and “Bellator 145: With a Vengeance” – the second installment of Dynamite will prominently feature talent on the undercard from the largest MMA promotion in the Midwest, Shamrock Fighting Championships, which is headed by former Strikeforce competitor, CEO Jesse Finney.
Three of the preliminary bouts come in the welterweight division and showcase undefeated prospects. The first contest pits Kevin Engel (5-0) against Chel Erwin-Davis (3-1) – who defeated former “The Ultimate Fighter” contestant Adam Cella in his last outing. Also featuring an unblemished mark to start his professional career, Joaquin Buckley (5-0) will face former UFC fighter, Chris “Stump” Heatherly (9-3-1). Also, a 180-pound catchweight bout will see Brad Jones(5-4) fight Clay Mitchell (1-2).
A veteran of 32-fights, Justin Robbins (14-17-1) meets Jordan Howard(9-3) in a bantamweight scrap, Michelle Royer(1-0) and Katy Collins (3-1) tangle at 125-pounds, Jason Christeson(1-0) welcomes Jarrod Thomas (0-0) to the sport of mixed martial arts in middleweight action and the always exciting heavyweightLee Burns (2-0) will compete against a yet unannounced opponent.
Rounding out the action are the two aforementioned Bellator Kickboxing bouts, which will feature Elmir Kulosman(3-0) versus Darryl Cobb (2-1) and a rematch of Tara Walker (4-3-1) against Mimi Kutzin (3-2), Walker defeated Kutzin when the two met in an amateur match in 2014.
