Recently John Edwards of Shamrock FC Radio had a chance to interview the fighters of the Co-Main Event, Anthony Lemon and Mike Brazzle and Main Event Fighters James Warfield and Kevin Engel. The event takes place at Shamorkc FC Nemesis on September 13, 2014 at the River City Casino. Here are the transcripts of those interviews.
Shamrock FC Radio: You are coming back after a long layoff against Anthony Lemon a KOTC (King of the Cage) and Bellator Veteran tell me how this fight came about and how excited are you to get back into the cage?
Mike Brazzle: It was kind of a random event. I was at a country concert when I ran into Shamrock FC Promoter Rob Donaker and I told him I was getting the itch to come back. He told me about this September card and I started training and I was feeling pretty good so I called him and told him I’m ready for September.
Shamrock FC Radio: They say training is like riding a bicycle, you never forget but training for MMA is usually is a completely different beast, how has it been?
Mike Brazzle: I’ve wrestled for 9 years so getting back into training (pause) I’ve never really got out of the fitness world as I work in a supplement store. I got away from the fighting but nutrition has always been there but I still lift and still exercise, because that’s what I like to do. Since I started fight training things are starting to come back. The hunger and passion are there and I’m excited. Training is going well
Shamrock FC Radio: You come into this fight with a 3-1 record, you say you are a wrestler but two of your wins come by knockout?
Mike Brazzle: I go to fight, I go to win and do whatever I have to win is what I do, whether it’s grappling, striking, or whatever it is I’m there to get the “W”
Shamrock FC Radio: I spoke with your opponent Anthony Lemon and he’s expecting a TKO in the 2nd Round, how do you respond to something like that?
Mike Brazzle: I really don’t like making predictions because like you said MMA is a different beast in all areas. Like I said I go to win, so whatever happens happens. I’m expecting a good fight for sure, the guy looks like a gamer but I am also ready to fight.
Shamrock FC Radio: Your opponent is expecting you to take this to the ground, is that what your number one strategy is going to be or are you going stand there and bang with him and if it goes to the ground it goes there?
Mike Brazzle: That’s kinda how I always have fought. If it goes to the ground so be it or if we stand and trade punches so be it, I’m ready, willing and confident in all areas that no matter where it goes I’m ready to handle myself.
