The Midwest’s #1 MMA promotion returns to Ameristar Casino Hotel in Kansas City, MO on Saturday, February 10th. The event will feature a mix of MMA and kickboxing bouts, with multiple titles up for grabs. Shamrock Fighting Championships recently celebrated its 25th year in business, and this marks the organization’s 352nd event!
In the main event, Bellator alum and bodybuilding phenom John Ott returns, eager to put his power on display, after having his bout in October cut short due to illegal strikes from his opponent. Ott will take on the 6’2″ submission specialist, Ceasar Gutierrez.
In the co-main event, the Undefeated Tyson “The Battleship” Hicks puts his unblemished professional record on the line in a kickboxing bout against Thomas “The Sniper” Thatcher. The Nebraska native, Thatcher, went 1-1 in 2023 with an impressive KO victory. He looks to play spoiler to the hometown favorite Hicks.
Two local bantamweight standouts are set to square off, as Caleb “The Hitman” Williams takes on Drake Heitfield. The 31-year-old Heitfield, who also competes in the world of professional boxing and bareknuckle boxing, has been extremely active since turning pro in 2017. This will be his 21st bout within the professional ranks. Williams, at 35 years of age, made his professional debut in the summer of 2023, after an impressive and lengthy amateur career.
Wrestling standout Glendal “Buckshot” Whitney, who captured the Shamrock FC light-heavyweight title in October 2023, will defend that title as he faces standup specialist Willie Sears. Sears is known to have dangerous striking, while Whitney displays a mix of explosive power and some of the best takedowns in the sport.
The undefeated welterweight champion and local standout, Matt Triboletti, is also set to defend his title. In his sixth appearance with Shamrock FC and first title defense, he’ll take on the 5-1 Dejuan Harper.
Doors for the event on February 10th open at 6:30 PM with fights beginning at 7:30 PM.
