ST. CHARLES, MO – Shamrock FC returns to Ameristar Casino Resort Spa St. Charles on Saturday, March 14, for a stacked card of professional mixed martial arts and kickboxing action featuring championship bouts, rising contenders, and a historic comeback.
“Shamrock FC has built a national reputation for showcasing elite regional talent while delivering an unmatched live-event atmosphere. The March 14 card continues that tradition with championship stakes, compelling storylines, and high-impact action from start to finish,” said Shamrock FC President Jesse Finney.
The main event will crown a new lightweight champion as top prospects Kody McGehee (5-0) and Billy Wilson (5-1) collide. In the co-main event, welterweights Jacob Highly and Nathan Stearns will fight. Both fighters enter this matchup on 3-fight win streaks. Another exciting matchup on the main card will see Peter Lucitt take on Bryce Crump in a pivotal bantamweight bout.
In one of the most compelling stories of the night, Mark Mayfield, a kickboxer who competed in the main event of the very first Shamrock FC event in 1998, returns for one final professional kickboxing bout against Andrew Aronson. Mayfield recently returned to the sport he discovered in his late teens and, after a few months back in the gym, decided to make the comeback a reality. The fighters will meet in a three-round matchup at 185 pounds.
Mayfield’s comeback adds a powerful full-circle moment to the March 14 event, connecting the promotion’s roots to its present-day success. More than two decades after headlining the inaugural show, he steps back into the ring for what is being billed as his final combat sports appearance.
Another belt is up for grabs as “The Albanian Airhorn” Erick Polovina takes on Kansas City’s Roman Sheffield. One of these fighters will walk out of Ameristar Casino with the 145-pound kickboxing title. Kickboxing standout Patrick Vega is also slated to make his return to competition after a hiatus of more than two years. He takes on Alonzo Fears-Dull, who makes a quick turnaround after his big win at Shamrock FC 373.
